Anyone who buys a small-batch product may notice a difference from one order to the next. The
colour may shift a little, the texture may feel slightly different, or the scent may seem a shade lighter
or stronger. We want you to know why this happens, and what to do if it concerns you.
The first reason is the ingredients. Natural ingredients are grown and harvested in different
conditions. Their colour, scent and texture can vary from one supply to another. That is part of
working with natural materials, and it is not a sign that something has gone wrong.
The second reason is scale. When we make in small quantities, each batch is a separate event.
Small differences in temperature, timing or handling can show up more clearly than they would in a
large industrial run. We would rather make that visible than force every batch to look identical.
What should you do if a batch looks or smells different? First, check the batch date and the product
label. Then, if you are still concerned, message us with a photo and a short description of what you
notice. We will look at it with you and explain what we can. If something is not right, we will tell you
and put it right.
We also want to be clear about what variation does not mean. A difference in colour or scent does
not, on its own, tell you anything about how a product will suit your skin or hair. If you have a
sensitivity, read the label, patch test as directed, and ask us before you use a new batch.
Small-batch products are made with care, and that care sometimes means small differences. We
would rather you know that, and trust us with the truth, than find out later and wonder.
